"Vegetarian World" will unite the efforts of public, commercial and government structures to improve the physical, mental and spiritual health, as well as creating a healthy environment, the formation needs of healthy lifestyles, promoting the humane treatment of nature and wildlife.
"Vegetarian World" will show that vegetarianism - a moral way of life, which is inherent in non-violence, compassion and spirituality.
"Vegetarian World" will present a variety of food products, cosmetics, medicines, bioadditives, household items manufactured for vegetarians.
"Vegetarian World" will develop industry healthy vegetarian food products in Russia and other countries, to protect the interests of ordinary consumers of food products.

PURPOSE OF THE FAIR, FESTIVAL:

 become a traditional annual event for the vegetarians in Russia and other countries and see food producers vegetarian orientation and services in this area;
 create the most favorable conditions for the formation of concepts of social and public policy in Russia in the field of healthy lifestyle for a period of 21 century;
 demonstrate an ideological and moral approach to vegetarian movement in Russia, as an integral part of the vegetarian movement in the world;
 contribute to the development of business, partnerships with manufacturers of vegetarian products trading companies and suppliers of equipment and raw materials;
 assist in the development, manufacture and marketing of vegetarian food;
 determine the status and dynamics of the vegetarian market sector;

Moscow Krishna devotees took part in the international exhibition "Vegetarian World"

Game of the eastern musical instruments and singing hymns ancient Vedic welcomed dressed in traditional Indian clothing, dhoti Hare Krishna members of the international specialized exhibition "Vegetarian World", held from 27 to 31 May in the cultural and exhibition center "Sokolniki" under the "Trading Forum - 2003 ", the press service of the Center Society for Krishna Consciousness in Russia.

Members of the Metropolitan Krishna community have been specifically invited by the organizers as representatives of religious organizations, strictly adhering to a vegetarian lifestyle and leadership in the charitable distribution of vegetarian food (humanitarian mission "Hare Krishna - Food for Life" had distributed 70 million servings of the needy).

Most of the exhibitors - and it is not less than two dozen different firms and companies - were commercial equipment, machines for making coffee, medicinal herbal teas, soft drinks, baked crackers and crisp bread, etc., ie all that can be associated with the alternative power of Russians in the near future.

Hare Krishnas demonstrated at its booth numerous vegetarian books, videos, promoting the benefits of vegetarianism, many recipes, seasonings and spices. Exposition halls near them could taste the delicious food and buy souvenirs made from high-grade replacements for meat including soybeans.
"The title of the exhibition suggests that vegetarianism gaining popularity. In any case, it reflects the new preferences in our society - explained one of the participants "Vegetarian World", the head of the University Vaishnava Brahmin Radha Damodar Das (Sergey Zuev). - Now in Russia vegetarianism is still little known and is seen more as exotic. It is undeservedly forgotten, although before the revolution was in the honor, and even considered a sign of advanced views. Vegetarinstvo able to quickly and painlessly solve many economic and environmental problems of society. Gradually the number of vegetarians in this country is growing, and this is not always related to religious beliefs. As for us, the adherents of the ancient Vaishnava religion, then in promoting the vegetarian lifestyle, we see an important component of our preaching nonviolence.

Vegetarian World consolidates public organizations', business corporations' and State authorities' activity aimed at improving physical and psychical health, creating healthy environment, promoting healthy mode of life, human attitude to nature and animals. Vegetarian World promotes vegetarianism as high moral standards based on violation aversion, mercy and high spirituality. Vegetarian World showcases a great variety of food, cosmetics, medications, bio-supplements and household goods for vegetarians. Vegetarian World favours the development of the healthy and vegetarian food production in Russia and other countries and the protection of interests of food consumers.

Organizers' objectives: To set up a traditional annual forum of vegetarians of Russia and other countries and a showcase of vegetarian foodstuffs and services. To assist the formation of public and governmental policy aimed at promoting healthy mode of life in Russia in XXI century. To form an ideological and moral approaches to problems of vegetarianism in Russia as a part of the global vegetarians' movement. To favour the development of business co-operation of vegetarian food manufacturers, trade companies and suppliers of equipment and source materials.
